Four Things to Verify Before You Sign
1. Insurance and local requirements. Texas does not issue a statewide roofing license, so ask for a current general-liability certificate and verify it with the carrier or agent named on the document.
2. The exact warranty. “Lifetime” can refer to materials, not workmanship. Ask for the manufacturer warranty name, installer workmanship term, transfer rules, exclusions, and who handles a claim if the salesperson leaves.
3. What the estimate actually includes. Look for the roof system, underlayment, flashing, ventilation, decking price per sheet, cleanup, permit responsibility, and payment schedule. Three vague bids are not as useful as three comparable scopes.
