RooferDirectory.co is operated by Ember Labs, a trade name of ECC Management, LLC (the “Site,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy covers information we handle through this website and related directory, support and enquiry communications.

Our Terms of Service explain the use of the Site. This policy explains our data practices; reading it or using the Site does not, by itself, give permission for optional tracking or marketing.

Roofing companies and external services have their own privacy practices. Contact us at hello@rooferdirectory.co if you have a question about our handling of your information.

Roofing quote requests

Your name, email, phone, ZIP or location, project type, property details, timing and any notes you enter. We store the request, notify our team and may introduce you to roofers as described under sharing. The form also records the contact authorization you accept.

Contact messages and corrections

Your name, email, topic, relevant page link and message. We use these to review and respond, including an email receipt and direct replies. A contact message is not a quote request or a marketing subscription.

Business submissions, claims and listing edits

Your name, role, business email and contact phone; business name, location, public phone, website, services and other details you provide. Claim forms may also ask for a license number. We use these to review your connection to the business, communicate about the request and update the directory. Business details intended for a listing may be published. Private contact and verification details are used for review and communication.

AI receptionist enquiries

Your name, business, email, phone, optional website and message, preferred contact method and enquiry consent. We use these to discuss the service, send a receipt and, where authorized, up to two enquiry follow-up emails. The enquiry form does not start a phone service or authorize unrelated marketing texts.

Privacy and accessibility requests

Your contact information, the request and details you choose to provide. We use them to respond and, where needed, verify your identity. You do not need to send medical information to request accessibility help.

Consent and communication records

Where applicable, we keep the disclosure version and text, when and how you agreed, form or request identifiers, IP address, browser information, email preferences, delivery status and your replies. These help us handle requests, prevent misuse and respect your choices.

Please do not put passwords, payment details, government ID documents or sensitive health information in a message or project description.

We use information to provide searches and tools, maintain public business listings, review requests, communicate with you, secure the Site and comply with legal obligations. With the relevant permission, we also measure visits and advertising and send communications described at sign-up.

Who may receive information

• Roofing contractors: if you submit a quote request and authorize sharing, we may share your contact and project details to arrange estimates. Our team receives the request first; it is not automatically broadcast to a contractor network. An introduction is not guaranteed. Contractors are responsible for their own responses and privacy practices.
• Site and communication providers: we use providers for hosting and security (Cloudflare, including Turnstile), data storage (Supabase) and email delivery (Resend and our email services). They process information needed for those functions. Future SMS delivery providers would process messages as explained in the SMS section.
• Google: when you allow the relevant optional category, Google Analytics or Google Ads receives visit, device, interaction and advertising-measurement information. Advertising measurements can include campaign identifiers and conversion outcomes. See Google’s privacy policy.
• Public visitors: published business details, including business contact information, are visible to directory visitors and search engines. Listings also use publicly available company information and third-party business data, including Google ratings and review counts. See our listing sources and methods.
• Legal and safety recipients: we may disclose information when required by law or reasonably necessary to investigate fraud, protect people or systems, or establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

A requested contractor introduction does not transfer your permission to receive RooferDirectory marketing texts. The SMS-specific limits below apply to all sharing described in this policy.

With advertising enabled, sharing online identifiers and activity with Google may be considered a “sale,” “sharing” or targeted advertising under applicable privacy law, even without a money payment. Use Privacy choices — do not sell or share to turn it off. For a request about other personal information, contact our team.

Optional Google analytics and advertising are off until you allow the corresponding category. You can reject both, allow either, or allow both. The directory, tools and forms remain available when they are off.

Essential site functions

Hosting, security checks, abuse prevention, working forms and choices you ask us to remember. Providers may process technical data even when optional cookies are off.

Privacy and accessibility preferences

We remember cookie choices in browser storage (rd_privacy_v1) for up to 365 days. Reading preferences such as text size, spacing, contrast and motion are saved on this browser (ember-display:roofer:v1) until you reset them or clear site storage. They are not a request for a disability diagnosis.

Quote-form progress

We temporarily save selected project answers and your step in this tab’s session storage. Drafts are eligible to restore for 30 minutes. The saved draft excludes your name, email, phone, free-text notes and consent.

Submission source

For visits our hosting provider identifies as coming from the United States, forms may keep a broad source category, such as Google, ChatGPT, email or another website, even when optional cookies are off. Outside the United States, or when the location is unknown, this requires analytics permission. We carry the category through links within our Site without attribution cookies, browser storage or visitor identifiers. We store it with the details you submit for our internal understanding of how people find our forms; it is not anonymous once attached to your request. This mode excludes referring website names and full addresses, advertising click IDs and campaign details, and does not send the source record to advertising platforms. A browser or referring app may withhold source information, so some sources remain unknown.

Website analytics

With analytics permission, Google Analytics measures visits and interactions. It may use cookies such as _ga and _ga_<id>.

Advertising and attribution

With advertising permission, Google Ads can measure advertising and conversions, including with cookies such as _gcl_au. We may also save first-party campaign, click and referring-page information (rd_attr_v1) with quote, claim or business submissions. Google Signals and ad-personalization signals are disabled when advertising is off.

Changing your choice

Use Manage privacy choices here or in the footer. Choices apply to this browser; repeat them on other devices. Changing a choice after optional tags have loaded refreshes the page, so save unfinished form work first. Withdrawal stops future optional tracking and removes applicable first-party Google cookies and advertising attribution storage. It does not delete data already received by providers or cookies on another domain.

We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) by keeping advertising off. Analytics remains a separate choice. We do not currently respond separately to the older “Do Not Track” signal. If this browser cannot save a privacy choice, optional tracking stays off.

To suggest nearby roofers, we may use a city or ZIP you enter, or an approximate location derived from your network connection by our hosting provider. Approximate location can be inaccurate; you can change it by searching another place.

Device location is optional. If you use a location button, the browser controls permission. Where you previously granted permission, the homepage may reuse it to suggest your ZIP. You can revoke permission in your browser settings and enter a city or ZIP instead.

For device-to-ZIP lookup on the homepage and quote form, your browser sends coordinates and network information to BigDataCloud. Its explanation of its free geocoding service describes using anonymous coordinate and network signals to improve location data. In map search, coordinates can also be sent to our search service and appear in the page URL. Review the URL before sharing it.

When the interactive map loads, your browser requests maps from OpenFreeMap, revealing technical information such as your IP address and the map area requested. OpenFreeMap says it does not use tracking cookies; see its privacy policy. Some business images load from third-party image hosts, which also receive ordinary request information. Visiting a contractor, Google Maps or another external link takes you to that provider’s service.

We send receipts, verification messages, status updates and replies associated with requests you make. The quote, claim and add-a-business forms have their own contact authorization, including the channels and subject matter described beside the checkbox. Where stated and lawfully authorized, that disclosure includes automated calls or artificial or prerecorded voices, including AI-generated voices on business forms.

Optional email tips, offers and reminders are controlled through the preference link in our emails. A general contact message or privacy request does not subscribe you to them. AI receptionist enquiry follow-ups are limited to that enquiry.

You can withdraw contact permission by emailing hello@rooferdirectory.co or telling our team during a call. Use the unsubscribe or preference link in an email to stop optional emails. We may still send necessary responses to a request you make, ownership-verification or privacy messages. Withdrawal does not undo a communication already sent.

Cookie choices and communication choices are separate: turning off advertising cookies does not withdraw a contact authorization you submitted, and unsubscribing from emails does not change browser cookies.

If we introduce SMS, we will identify RooferDirectory as the sender and explain the message categories when asking you to opt in. Possible categories include your roofing request, business submission or claim, and separately authorized offers. We will obtain or reconfirm the permission required for the specific program before sending. Browsing, accepting cookies or reading these policies does not enroll you.

SMS opt-in and consent records are not sold, rented or shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing. Mobile information collected for the SMS program is used to run that program, with service providers who help deliver messages and honor opt-outs. No other sharing provision here authorizes transferring SMS consent. Sharing contact details for a roofing introduction you requested does not give a contractor permission to use our SMS opt-in.

If launched, message frequency will depend on the program; message and data rates may apply. The program will support STOP to unsubscribe and HELP for assistance. You can contact hello@rooferdirectory.co about permission now. See the future SMS terms for the full conditions.

Depending on where you live and which laws apply, you may have rights to know or access the personal information we hold, receive a portable copy, correct it, request deletion, withdraw consent, or opt out of sale, sharing or targeted advertising. Applicable laws may also provide rights to limit certain uses of sensitive information, object to or restrict processing, or appeal a denied request.

California residents: where the CCPA applies, these rights include knowing the categories and specific pieces of information collected, sources, purposes and categories of recipients; correction; deletion subject to exceptions; and opting out of sale or sharing. We use browser-provided location to supply requested location features, not to infer a sensitive personal profile. You may refuse or revoke device-location permission. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of children under 16 for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Use the privacy request form or email hello@rooferdirectory.co. Choose “Other privacy question” for an opt-out, authorized-agent request or appeal and describe what you need. You do not need an account. We will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.

We verify identity before providing, changing or deleting personal records, using information proportionate to the request. An authorized agent may need to provide authorization, and we may need to confirm directly with you. Browser advertising opt-outs and GPC do not require identity verification. We will respond within the time required by applicable law and explain any denial and available appeal process. You may also contact your privacy regulator.

We keep information for the purposes described here: completing requests, maintaining listings, providing support, honoring opt-outs, documenting consent, preventing abuse and meeting legal obligations. Retention depends on the record, whether a request is still active, legal requirements and whether it is needed to resolve a dispute. Browser-storage periods are described in the cookies section. Provider-held records and backups may follow different retention schedules.

You can request deletion. Some records may need to be retained for a legal obligation, a dispute, security or to make sure we continue to respect an opt-out. We do not promise immediate deletion of every backup copy.

Security and processing locations

We use HTTPS, access controls and measures intended to protect the information we handle. No online service or storage system is completely secure. We and our providers may process information in the United States and other locations where they operate. Contact us if you need information about a particular request or provider; using the Site is not treated as a waiver of your legal privacy rights.

The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has submitted information, send a privacy request or email us so we can review and address it. Do not send a child’s identifying documents through a public form.

You can request an accessible copy of this policy or help exercising a privacy choice by emailing hello@rooferdirectory.co. If a form or security check is a barrier, use that email instead. Describe the assistance you need; a diagnosis or medical proof is not required.

Our optional reading settings are stored in your browser. They complement our work on keyboard access, labels, contrast and assistive-technology support. Our Accessibility & help page explains that work and how to report a barrier.

We may update this policy when the Site, data practices or legal requirements change. We will post the revised policy and update its date, and provide additional notice or obtain new consent when required. A policy update does not silently expand a previously given marketing or SMS permission.
